The Raise Your Hand Tennessee collaborative recruits volunteers to mentor and tutor children across the state
One of the many ways United Way of the Mid-South helps improve local education efforts is through our partnership in the Raise Your Hand Tennessee effort – a statewide collaboration recruiting volunteers to read to, tutor, and mentor children and youth.
Volunteering helps children enter school ready to succeed, read proficiently by 4th grade, make a successful transition in and out of middle school, and graduate from high school on time. The difference in a child’s success in school – and in life – could be YOU.
For more information on how to volunteer for this statewide initiative, visit the Raise Your Hand Tennessee website, dial our local 2-1-1 help line or contact Mary Graham at 615-791-1464. Thank you in advance for being a community volunteer!
